Achieve the look of batik, without using wax, by painting on Masa paper with traditional watercolours.
Masa, machine made Japanese art paper, accepts the watercolour pigment differently than traditional watercolour paper, with surprising results, often compared to batik. I will show you how to work with Masa paper; including preparing the paper, painting, and mounting on canvas in this fun, hands-on workshop. Basic knowledge of watercolour painting and using art supplies is recommended. A supply list will be provided prior to the workshop and a $10 material fee will be collected at the beginning of class. The senior’s discount does not apply.
